TUBING PRESSURE AND CASING PACKER
The
Tubing Pressure Packer is designed to handle a variety of downhole needs. The packer may
be run in tension or compression.
The
Casing Packer can be set in open hole or in the casing string.
Deeply
cut, widely spaced wickers allow the packer to set, whether it is in open hole or in
corroded casing. The Casing Packer is also available for open holes with a softer dual
packing element system. This system provides a more reliable pack-off in irregular
formations and a trouble free release without swabbing. Also available with safety release
for tension set.
Applications:
The Tubing Pressure Packer is used for acidizing, fracturing, and water injection, but
only where moderate pressure is expected. It has found frequent application for shutting
off leaks in injection wells.
The
Casing Packer is often run beneath casing holes to isolate water so the well can be pumped
or gas vented. The packer can be set in tension or compression for shutting off water, for
injection or for various cementing procedures. When run in compression and in conjunction
with special release sub, the packer can be used as a liner hanger.
