KTC TANDEM TENSION PACKER
The
KTC Tandem Tension Packer is an economical isolation packer designed to be run in
multiple-zone waterflood installations. The packer is used as the upper packer, with
atension packer, or a packer that holds both ways, as the lower packer. The KTC Tandem
Tension Packer can be shear- pinned in the jayed or unjayed position, depending on the
application. A built in unloader allows fluid to bypass the packing elements before the
packer is retrieved.
OPERATION
Setting; .
If the packer is pinned in the jayed position, apply set down weight to shear pins. Rotate
tubing 1/8 of a turn to the left at the packer and apply tension. If the packer is pinned in the unjayed position,
the shear pins can be sheared with either tension or setdown weight. Tension can then be
applied to pack off the elements. If the lower packer will not take weight, the tandem
packer must be pinned in the unjayed position.
Releasing:
Slack off to remove tension and allow the packer to equalize. Rotate tubing to the right
1/8 of a turn at the tool. The packer is now released and can be removed from the well. |
